Cirque du Soleil is a renowned contemporary circus company founded in Montreal, known for its innovative blend of acrobatics, original music, elaborate staging, dance, and theatrical storytelling. The company has established a significant presence in Las Vegas with multiple long-running resident productions, including the aquatic spectacle O, which has been captivating audiences since its opening in October 1998 at the O Theater - Bellagio. This show uniquely combines diving, synchronized swimming, and acrobatics around a stunning 1.5 million-gallon pool.
The O production is celebrated for its breathtaking visuals and technical achievements, making it a must-see for visitors to Las Vegas. The show features a series of fluid tableaux that transition between water and aerial performances, creating an immersive experience that resonates with themes of romance and surrealism. Over the years, O has received numerous accolades and is consistently regarded as one of Cirque's flagship productions.
As part of its current residency at the Bellagio, O continues to draw large crowds, showcasing the artistry and athleticism that Cirque du Soleil is known for. The show runs approximately 90 minutes without an intermission and is suitable for audiences of all ages, although children under five are generally not permitted.
The O Theater - Bellagio is a custom-designed venue specifically built to host the O production. With a seating capacity of around 1,800, the theater features a unique proscenium-style configuration that enhances sightlines to the stage. The best seats are typically located in the center orchestra section, where audiences can fully appreciate the intricate choreography and stunning visuals above and below the water.
While most sections offer good views, seats in the far sides may have obstructed views of certain aerial acts. It is advisable to avoid seats too far back in the theater as they may diminish the overall experience of this visually spectacular performance.
Parking options near the O Theater - Bellagio include several convenient choices:
The best parking option is the Bellagio Self-Parking facility due to its proximity to the theater. Visitors should avoid parking at locations that are further away from the Strip as they may require longer walks or additional transportation arrangements.
Prices currently start around $120 for tickets to see Cirque du Soleil - O, with premium seating options reaching up to $500 or more depending on demand and availability. It is advisable to purchase tickets in advance due to high demand for this iconic Las Vegas show.
